Why not do Darwin differently? For an experience like no other, try exploring Darwin from the back of a WWII truck! The Darwin History and Wartime Experience takes visitors past the city’s most important sites, including Government House, Fort Hill Wharf and Darwin Harbour, the East Point military area and the 1934 QANTAS hangar.
Your knowledgeable guide will take you through Darwin’s history – from the early explorers to the WWII Japanese bombing, to Cyclone Tracy in 1974 and beyond.
Tours run up to four times daily in the dry season and last approximately an hour and a half, with an optional stop-off at the East Point Museum (entry fee additional). Custom and half-day tours are also available. Tickets can be bought direct from the operator or via the Tourist Information Centre.
