The Royal Flying Doctor Service has a long and proud history in Australia, and it comes to life in its Darwin Tourist Facility. Tucked away in the Stokes Hill Wharf, here visitors can experience two iconic stories of the RFDS: the tale of its founder Reverend John Flynn, and the Bombing of Darwin in February 1942. This world-class facility uses cutting-edge technology to portray the stories through holograms and virtual reality, and features a projection window of the Japanese air attack on the harbour. Other attractions include a decommissioned, medically equipped RFDS aircraft, as well as a life-sized replica of a Japanese Zero aircraft. Learn about the pilots, engineers, doctors and nurses, and hear the experiences of the patients that are carried and cared for each day.
