Only a half-hour’s drive west of Alice Springs and nestled in the ancient slopes of the West McDonnell Range National Park this site is an authentic cultural treasure of Western Arrernte country, Central Australia. Most spectacular when the sunlight reaches the chasm walls and floor for about 90 minutes around noon, the chasm is a significant ‘woman’s dreaming’ site in local culture. Operated by the community, the Kiosk Café prepares fresh food daily and the gift shop has an interesting collection of local crafts and paintings from local Indigenous artists. Camping facilities are available.
